Ever since I was a child I've been interested in and trying to learn Japanese. I've failed spectacularly at this task. But now, I decided that I will learn it and the first thing we'll do is set goals.
My final goal is to be fluent in Japanese, but let's break this down into smaller, attainable, clear goals.
First of all, I plan on going to Japan towards the end of 2027 (next year) and would like very much to be able to order things at restaurants, read some menus, chat a little bit, read signs, and who knows even rent a car.
To do that I know I'll need to practise listening, speaking and reading. Writing will be partially left aside, since I don't think I'll need to write anything, but writing will be important in the learning process as a whole.
Listening will be the easiest to practise, since I just need to find videos and podcasts to listen to. Speaking will be the hardest since I'm an introvert and don't really wanna talk to people. We'll figure that out later. Reading will rely mostly on the books I have available.
